THE TYPE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION WE PROCESS
PERSONAL DATA
We collect and process the following information:
1. basic personal information, such as a data subject’s full name; date of birth; the political party; county, constituency and ward of voter registration; polling station;
2. contact information, such as a data subject’s postal address, email address and phone number(s); and
3. any other personal data that is provided to The We Alliance Party (TWAP) during the time of registration.

SENSITIVE DATA
The We Alliance Party (TWAP) processes special category data. This includes, as set out above, special category data received by TWAP where data subjects contact, or request information from, the TWAP directly, and sensitive data received by the TWAP indirectly.
Such sensitive data may include a natural person’s ethnicity, religion, sex, physical disability and other special interest groups.

HOW WE GET THE PERSONAL INFORMATION AND WHY WE HAVE IT
4. Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by Kenyan citizens upon membership registration.
5. We use the information that is given to us during the registration for no other purpose other than the registration and facilitation of political party membership.
6. We may share this information with other stakeholders that are involved in electoral processes such as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and ORPP.
9. Under the Political Parties Act, 2011 and Data Protection Act, 2019, the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:
(a) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by resigning from a political party where you are registered as member in line with Section 14 of the PPA,2011.
(b) We have a legal obligation.

HOW WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Your information is securely stored electronically and manually in servers managed by The We Alliance Party and stored in secret locations within the country.
We keep personal information in the active for as long as the person is a member of The We Alliance Party and active according to the register of life and deaths. We will then dispose your information by deleting
the record from the membership register of political parties.

YOUR DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
1. Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
2. Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate through the party where you are a member. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
3. Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to remove your personal information in accordance with Section 14 of PPA.
